Doug,
don't use the speaker out, but the AF out on the ACC1 socket, pin 5. This=
has=20
several advantages:=20
- the level is constant, regardless of the AF control setting; you can se=
t the=20
volume to your liking, the AF on ACC1 is unaffacted.
- the level (better: impedance) is better suited for line-in or mic-in.
- the AF is not processed (and maybe distorted) by the AF amplifier.
There is no way to turn a MIc-input on the notebook into a line-input wit=
hout=20
major re-work. I have a Sony Vaio myself, also only Mic-input, no LIne-In=
=2E I=20
use it for RTTY, PSK31 etc. with the said AF-out on ACC1, works without a=
ny=20
problem.
Concerning the CW Decoder - i would try not to use it, it will spoil you.=
=20
After a while of using it you will stop trying to decode with your brain,=
=20
forgetting how to read CW properly.
