[Icom] CT -17 interface

Most modern Icom radios support a mode call "CI-V Transceive", which can
be enabled or disabled via the menu system.
When a radio's "CI-V Transceive" mode is "on", moving its dial results
in the transmission of CI-V messages that cause all other radios on the
CI-V bus to follow along in frequency. I forget whether the "slave"
radios must also have "CI-V Transceive" mode "on", or whether they will
follow the "master" no matter what. The same is true of modulation -
setting the "master" to "SSB" causes all the "slaves" to switch to
"SSB".
If you don't have multiple radios, "CI-V Transceive" is still quite
useful when used with PC-based rig control software-- by setting "CI-V
Transceive" to "on", your radio constantly updates your PC software with
frequency and mode changes without the PC software having to poll
(constantly send "please report your frequency and mode" messages).

Hello Ekki,
I am surprised at your problem. My understanding of the Icom interface
doesn't explain your situation. Apparently I don't understand the
interface.
When I read the Icom radio instruction books, the radios do not
broadcast their frequencies without a request from a computer. When such
a request is made, only the radio that the request is addressed to would
respond with its VFO frequency.
Is it possible that your computer when reading a new frequency, commands
the VFO to the frequency just received?? Secondly is it possible for all
four radios to have the same radio address??
I'll admit I am confused. Could somebody explain??
