On every Icom radio I have used (765, 756, 756PRO) audio to the radio
on the ACC1 port does not activate the VOX. This was done for very
good reasons as you would not want every Windows beep and sound to
cause your radio to transmit. However assuming that you manage to
tame Windows, VOX on the ACC1 port would be nice. If you really want
VOX use the microphone input which also has audio out in the cable but
it will vary with the audio gain setting or get an interface that takes
the audio and generates a PTT signal. There was an article in QST this
year for such an interface.
