[Icom] IC 706 MK II 2 Meter power setting

Eric,

DO NOT believe what HRO told you. Regardless of the power level you set
in the 706MK2G menu, when you key up, the radio will transmit FULL power
for several milliseconds which is long enough to fry the input circuit
of the Mirage amp. I personally know a guy who blew up three (3) Mirage
amps this way before he figured out what the problem was.

I have heard, but have not been able to confirm, that the only safe way
to setup the power level for the correct drive to an external amp is go
inside the radio, find the 2m power adjustment pot, and set it to
something less than the max input power that that amp can handle.
