Floyd, just last week, I removed the window of a 761 I bought on E-bay. The
dust behind there was driving me nuts!.
I took my time and used a jewlers screwdriver and pried the logo strip away.
I did remove the front panel to make it easier to work on, but it's not
necessary. Looking back in retrospect, I believe you would have an easier
time if you used a hair dryer or left the front panel out in the sun. Take
your time and it will come off. The trip strip is very soft so be careful not
to gouge the top, front.
I polished the window with 3M plastic polish and it looks bettet than new.
There will be quite a bit of the adhesive on both the trim and the front
panel. VERY carefully clean off as much as you can with laquer thinner. The
trim will probably be bent slightly during removal. Relax, it's very easy to
bend. I then used a strip of Scotch double stick celophane tape and stuck it
back on. The combination of the tape and a little remaining Icom adhesive
causes the trip to really stick well.
The radio looks brand new, you could never tell the window was removed. In
fact, the hardest part was getting the front panel back on the radio, over
all the buttons...... It just takes a little patience.

gud luk
