Metric threads have one standard pitch per thread size. SAE
threads have a national fine, national course and a lot of special sizes. I
wish USA would go all metric. It is a much simpler world.
The purpose of the screw is to keep the connector from wiggling
around. Although the connector has a latch, it will still move. I have
tried leaving the screw out and in. There is a difference. Repeating, keep
the screw tight.
