For the past 10 months I have been using a small (3 inch) muffin type
fan placed close to the exhaust vent on the rear of my IC746 (similar
cooling flow to IC 756PRO) to draw air through the rig and keep it cool
during long listening periods. Placing the fan in the rear also reduces
the noise factor and cools the WHOLE radio. An added benefit to the
IC746 is it also keeps the digital display area cool in light of some
previous posts concerning display failures because of heat.
