I strapped two 3 inch fans together with number 6 copper and stand them =
on edge near the back left edge of the IC-756Pro they blow on the rear =
and left side and under the radio. No heat comes out of the top vent. =
Top, rear and side stays cool to the touch after all day. =20

These radios may be built to handle component heat...but I've always =
treated heat as the enemy.

I first had problems with my 756P with the heat, and, basically was told =

not too worry. I taped a full immersion glass themometer on the top of =
the=20
rig with the bulb over the vent at the front of the rig, ie just above =
the=20
anologue meter.

Made observations, turned on the transmit for awhile when it reached 40=20
celcius. Noted that the high temp was only when the ambient temp was=20
high. That is late summer evenings when listening for awhile.

I have bought a second hand CPU fan that I plan on installing on top of =
the=20
vent to help exhaust the heat.
