There are probably a couple of versions of that one, but this =
is the one that I used.
On the RF board, either clip or unsolder diodes D23 & D24.
That's it.
For a long time I've been meaning to o some mos to the preamp
itself to improve performance below the BCB. My radio has the
Willco board installed and goes down to about 10 KHz; in some
cases, the preamp could be a help on LF / VLF. However, it not
only loses effectiveness below about 450 KHz, but below 200 KHz
or so it becomes a definite detriment; the radio works better with the
preamp off. I suspect that juggling some preamp power supply =
decoupling components (making the low frequency reactance larger =
in them) the situation would be improved at lower frequencies.
