Jim =20

The rig works fine in Mars and the tuner works fine on the ham band freqs=
but not on the MARS freqs - I think I got the mod right here but I have =
seen it on the internet also (but I don't see it now) =20

I have made lots of mods to the rig and some really improve the rig - oth=
ers are a lot of work for not that much benefit (I did the tracking sidet=
one mod and its nice, but I wouldn't do it again and I work lots of CW - =
I am considering doing the audio mod discussed here recently but haven't =
done it yey - I really would like for the tuner to work on all freqs thou=
gh

- Now I can be on 3.999 and have a resonant antenna and the tuner works b=
ut when I move to 4.001 it does not work and seems to detune the otherwis=
e resonant antenna - I just turn the tuner off and all is fine - I am usi=
ng manual external antenna tuners for most of my antennas and will probab=
ly keep doing so, but I still would like the internal antenna tuner to wo=
rk -

I think I am probably just being too gentle, but I really don't want to b=
reak anything

By the way ther were some guys here that had 765 info on web pages and I =
guess I lost that also -

Anyway, I ll let you know how it works out

George

I don't have my 765 on line anymore but I sure don't remember needing to
make any mods to the tuner. I removed the diode on the board behind the
display - I think that is where it was - and operated on MARS for several
years before I quit the group. (Lots of nets to check in with nothing to
say and no messages to pass....)

I wonder where you read that info on needing to mod the tuner?? I
really don't think it is right.

Jim
