you are all aware of the ic746pro i had that was 3 weeks old, and the main
vfo mechanical assembly just plain fell off because someone at the factory
forgot to tighten it before it left the factory. the fine fellows at texas
towers felt my pain and said " go away... not our problem" found an icom
authorized avionics dealer happy to help me in my home town.. next
problem.. due to the extra stress placed on the friction screw that
increased or decreased drag on the vfo knob, the plastic face of the rig
"stress cracked" i was panicked.. a new 746pro with a cracked face...
WOW was i upset... called the AVIONICS DEALER ( as opposed to texas towers)
and the av dealer said (once again) "bring it in" they took one look at it
and shipped it back to icom for me with their regular stuff NO CHARGE.. the
result? icom replaced the rig.. thanks to the great guys at icom... the
local avionics dealer in my town, and i can be found at dayton in front of
the texas tower booth handing out a paper detailing my experience with the
fine boys at texas towers. as they say the truth stands on its own.. 73
