[HoustonHam] Fw: [NARS] 6 meters activity in Houston?

There were a couple of us on 52.525 out on the west end (near Bear Creek)
but that was 4yrs ago and I cant say if anyone is still on...the only 6mtr
rptr (53.11) is in Channelview, 0 gain antenna, 200ft and NO coverage on the
west side...He would do better on SSB (50.125, etc) but little FM activity
(shame for the 4th largest city in the US)...I was working on a wide area
split site rptr with voter and multiple rcvrs but job move took me east
toward Beaumont and that killed m rptr projects in Houston...
(but my 53.15 rptr in Beaumont will be up soon.....working on a final tower
site that MAY get coverage to the east side of Houston)

Could someone tell me if there is much activity on 6 meters around Houston?
If I put up a vertical "flagpole" style dipole for starters will I have
someone to chat with locally? I am not particularly interested "working"
repeaters.
