Thanks to all who responded so quickly to my emails about
PayPal "verification."  The majority of you responded with
a resounding "NO" to the process.  I appreciate your honesty,
especially you who listed important areas of concern in
your response.  The rest of you who responded gave me a
loud "YES" and, again, I appreciate your reasoning behind
your answers.

For the moment, I will "rock on" using my credit card as
the means of payment.  Once I reach the "limit" that they
are always reminding me of, well, then I'll see what happens
next.

It's a real shame that a system such as eBay/PayPal that
offers a real service to the consumer has become the target
of so many scam artists, charlatans, and downright thieves.

Who knows ... I may have to start sending cashier's cheques
or money orders and WAITING for my purchases to arrive.
Egads!  Having to wait ... ugh!  :0)
