[HomeBrew] LM317T 3 terminal regulator tab isolated?

In scanning thru the 40 pages of specs on the LM317T, I am unable to discern
if the mounting tab is isolated from the terminals.  In other words, can the
tab be bolted directly to the chassis for heat sinking, without shorting out
one of the terminals?

Anyone know one way or the other?
