I have the SLR radio and it works well for what it is, though I haven't
turned it on in years.
Jade Products hasn't been around for a long time and were only in buisness
for a few years. Part time, home based kind of thing.
As for building one of these radios, dead bug works well and is your only
good option. Basically, you start with a blank piece of copper clad circuit
board and build the circuit over the copper foil. All ground connections are
made by soldering to the copper foil. IC's are mounted with the legs
sticking up in the air, hence the name "dead bug". All other connections are
made between the IC pins and hanging parts in the air. If you take your
time, it can be made to look quite nice.
