All,
The OCR II Reciever appeared in the September 2000 issue of QST on pp 32-37 by Dan Wissell, N1BYT. The OCRII is an optically coupled regenerative receiver and is based on a combination of two other articles that were published in QST by Dan:
1. The 40M SLR - a shielded-loop receiver, QST, Oct 1997, pp33-38
2. The OCR Receiver, QST, June 1998, pp 35-38.
All three of these articles are available online at ARRL if your a member.
I'm new to building and wanted to tap into some experience. I was curious if anyone on this list has built any of these receivers.
I'm collecting the parts for the OCRII and have everything but a few variable pots which I will be looking for online today. The only other thing I don't have is a PCB. The article in the Sept 2000 issue of QST looks like it was built on a piece of copper plating. I really don't think I have enough experience that I can do something like this. It said you could do it dead bug style as well and then mentioned a company that at the time sold part kits as well as a PCB.
This company was called jadeprod. www.jadeprod.com but it looks like the domain may have changed as it doesn't look like anything related to ham radio.
Thanks in advance for any help.
73,
John KD7KFT
