You might find a nice solution is to homebrew one of Charles Kitchin's VHF regenerative receivers. I see that FAR Circuits has a kit: http://www.farcircuits.net/FAR_CKTS.pdf (I think the article itself can be found in the ARRL pages). No connection with FAR Circuits, etc. 73, ian K3IMW
