[HomeBrew] Is all "plastic" pipe the same?

It has been suggested here in Oz, that you can test the RF capabilities of
plastic pipe by putting a sample in a microwave oven. If it doesn't melt, it
is O.K. Of course, put it on a paper plate, and put in a cup of water to
load the oven. I haven't actually tried it, and it probably says nothing
about the UV resistance.
