[HomeBrew] 6L6 coil power/heat limitations?

Emboldened by my AC-1 replica success, I decided to go "one more up" and build a small multiband CW/AM transmitter based on the 6L6 tube. It may be 6AG7 driven, who knows? But what I find a little annoying is the availability of the JEL 5 pin type coils.
Has anyone homebrewed a 6L6 type transmitter using those plastic 5 pin coil forms like the ones found in Antique Electronic Supply (similar to the plug in coils found in the AC-1). My concern is coil heating therefore, melting coil forms. Any one care to comment? Thanks. Cal, N6KYR
