Ok. I've narrowed it down to two options for the wattmeter part. And I need
your expert (no flattery intended) advice/suggestions/comments on what to go
with finally.
Option 1: Ten-Tec 1202 wattmeter kit , HF+VHF 200W, $65.
Option 2: Daiwa CN-801, HF+VHF, 2KW, $135.
The difference (besides price) is that the tentec is rated 200W and the
daiwa is 2KW.
What I would like to know is, if (in future maybe) I have a linear amplifier
like 1 or 1.5KW, do I really need a 2KW rated meter or even a 200W meter
should do equally good with the POWER TURNED DOWN while tuning the antenna
and then disconnecting the meter at full power. Does this sound practical ?
Would this method give same results as connecting a 2KW meter in the first
place ?
Also, which one would serve me better in terms of reliability and accuracy.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks and 73s,
Percy KC0GVT.
