Put a diode in series with the positive connection from the power supply
to the battery. This will prevent reverse current from flowing from the
battery back into the supply. Try to find a Schottky diode since these
have a forward voltage drop of .2 volt rather than the .6vdc with a
convential diode. Of course you will need to pick a diode the exceeds
the current draw that your Alinco requires.

Some power supplies use the '723 regulator IC and these ICs do NOT
tolerate positive voltage on the supply output when there is now voltage
on the input such as when the AC mains fail.
