SKYWARN Recognition Day was developed in 1999 by the National Weather
Service and the American Radio Relay League. It celebrates the
contributions that volunteer SKYWARN radio operators make to the
National Weather Service. During the day SKYWARN operators visit NWS
offices and contact other radio operators across the world.
The 14^th edition of SkyWarn Recognition Day is one week from now.As of
today over 74 NWS Offices are registered for the 24 hour event.The event
will be from 2:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday,
Dec. 1, 2012.
This week the final touches will be put on the website and the official
endorsement checklist. The final checklist will likely be posted
Thursday for download.Stay Tuned!

SKYWARN Recognition Day is an opportunity for National Weather Service
Forecast Offices across the United States to thank SKYWARN Spotters for
their efforts in obtaining timely severe weather reporting for the
protection of life and property. This is the SKYWARN program's main
mission."To Save Lives".
For Oahu information,we will use the Allstar linked repeaters on 444.350
at Diamond Head, which will be linked to 444.325, 146.980 and the 146.76
repeaters on Oahu.
At 11/30/2012 7:30pm The Honolulu Weather service Skywarn HAM operator
will make a call out on 146.880 on the EARC net for Information
neededThe Call sign, location, and a one or two word description of the
weather occurring at your site ("sunny", "partly cloudy", "windy".
The Honolulu Weather service Skywarn HAM operator will make a call out
on HF Net on Hawaii.
