[HIham] 2010 Hawaii State Legislature submits HB 2225, bill mirrors County cell phone laws, testimony needed

Amateur Radio Operators in Hawaii,

The State House this week has submitted House Bill 2225 regarding the 
use of mobile electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle in the 
State of Hawaii.  This bill mirrors the ordinances which passed and are 
in effect on Oahu and the Big Island.

This bill, if passed into State law, will override the ordinances and 
bills at the County level.  Kauai and Maui County Councils are holding 
hearings on their respective versions of the bill.

All amateur radio operators on ALL ISLANDS are encouraged to submit 
written testimony, supporting House Bill 2225.  The committee hearing
