Amateur Radio operators in Hawaii, Senate Bill SB2755 Senate Draft 1 has 
a public decision making date set for Tuesday, Feb 23 at 10:00 am in the 
Chamber Level (underground parking level) Rm 016.

I encourage you to send testimony to the Senate JGO committee (Judiciary 
and Government Operations), supporting amateur radio, and requesting an 
amendment on the use of two-way radio in Section 2 (2) and revert the 
language to:

"(2) Drivers using two-way radios while in the performance and scope of 
their work-related duties; and"

The current language in SD1 prohibits the use of radios in passenger 
vehicles for work purposes, affects a range of small and medium 
businesses and other work operations, and would disrupt daily commerce.

"     (2)  Drivers using two-way radios while in the performance and 
scope of their work-related duties, who:

         (A)  Are operating vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating 
of over 10,000 pounds and registered to a business; or

         (B)  Possess a commercial vehicle license; and

It will be a while before I can update my web page with additional 
information this weekend, so prepare your testimony now, and make 
arrangements to attend the JGO committee meeting hearing.

I now see that this is a public DECISION MAKING, not a hearing for 
SB2755 SD1.

I see that SB2755, SD1 is now scheduled for a hearing in the Judiciary 
Committee (JGO) on Feb 23rd at 10:00 AM in room 016.
I cannot be there as I have another meeting at that time.
