To Hawaii Hams,
Thanks to Carter Davis (KH6FV), the following information are for those who have access to Echo Link. You can access the IRLP Western Reflector channel 4 using any computer or Echo Link repeater if you have an Echo Link log on. Log onto the Conference Server "HI-GATE" node 357564 and it is bridged onto the Western Reflector Channel 4 (9254). It will support 200 Echo Link long-on stations.
For the Oahu Hams, just a reminder, the 147.060+ repeater now has a p/l of 103.5. The other frequencies in the VHF interisland link remains the same with no p/l tone.
The SKYWARN amateur radio station at the National Weather Service will also be monitoring 146.880 Diamond Head Repeater in case anyone from Oahu wants to call in any weather related reports.
Mahalo, Clem

Subject: Anticipated SKYWARN activation, Thursday 6:00 pm
Hawaii Hams,
A storm front is expected to arrive in the Hawaiian Island during Thursday,
prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flood watch. It is anticipated
that SKYWARN operations will start at Thursday, 6:00 pm. Below is an excerpt
from Clem Jung, KH7HO outlining the expected operations.
-----
We will be using the following frequencies:
- VHF: Interisland VHF repeater link - 147.060, 147.04, and 147.02.
- UHF: Round Top UHF/IRLP Node 3080, 443.425+ p/l 114.8 repeater and hookup to the Western Reflector
- HF: 7.088 (approximately, depending on conditions)
-----
Note that NWS Honolulu experiences high levels of electrical noise, which
limits HF operations.
Monitor communications channels, news outlets and NOAA weather radio for the latest information
and weather alerts.
Ron Hashiro, AH6RH
