[HIham] C&C Bill 4, CD1 proposes to ban mobile amateur radio use on Oahu

Amateur radio operators,

A review of the text for the cellphone bill (Bill 4, CD1) before the 
City Council effectively bans the use of amateur radio while driving on 
Oahu.

If this concerns you, now is the time to submit testimony to the City 
Council requesting that amateur radio operators be exempt from the 
bill.  The only way to affect the legislation is to submit testimony by 
email/written/in person, or to talk with the staff of the councilperson 
representing your district.  So far, only two amateur radio operators 
have submitted testimony.

For practical purposes, the deadline to submit testimony for Wednesday's 
2:00 pm hearing in Council chambers would be tomorrow to allow the staff 
to process your testimony for the hearing.
