Those of us who testified in the beginning were assured by a staffer that
amateur radio operators would "be taken care of", so now we are asking for
an exemption? I testified that we were licensed by the FCC to operate our
mobile equipment safely; I know, I'm being cynical.
So, the way read in CD3, who will be authorized to pick up a microphone and
talk into it while operating a motor vehicle in Hawaii? It would seem,
practically no-one. Maybe we just need our licenses and a training course
the government would be required to offer HPD and HFD employees, for
example?
