 From Bob Schneider, AH6J

FYI,

On Thursday May 5 (5/5/05) members of BIARC plan to “temporarily”
replace the Mauna Loa repeater (KH6EJ) with the BIARC portable repeater.
This means 146.82 MHz (-) frequency and the link to Waimea and Kona will
be out of service for some time. The “stand alone” frequency will be
146.68 MHz (-). It may be linked from time to time via either echo link
or IRLP. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have the system
back to normal ASAP depending on what problems we encounter during the
upgrade.

The RACES repeater system is an alternate path. It operates on 147.04
MHz (+) (AH6JA) from Mauna Loa, 146.02 MHz (+) from Haleakala Maui and
146.06 MHz (+) from Diamond Head. They are all linked.

Reminder: Tuesday (5/3/05) Noon to 1PM is the monthly test of the Mauna
Kea Repeater. It operates on 146.72 MHz (-) and is sponsored by
Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD). It has been having
problems so it may take high power and a good antenna to access it.
Please send “heard” reports to AH6J or AH6HN at their arrl.net address.

73,

Bob, AH6J
