Ann has been helping us with the legislative process. Apparently the bills
will still be coming up. We will keep you posted. Yes, we are as confused
as you are. The process and language is not as straight forward as one
would like.

I checked this web site and then discussed it with Andrew Garrett (Hiraki's
committee clerk). What you are looking at is the agenda and means the bills
need to pass third reading, and not that they have passed. The Session
opened a while ago and went immediately went into recess, so they have not
voted yet. They are in caucus and could re-convene at any time. They must
make the decisions by midnight, so they cannot put anything off beyond this
evening. They are voting on bills a page at a time. When a page comes up,
Representatives are asked whether they want to comment on any of the bills
on that page before the vote. I asked Andrew whether he anticipates
comments, and he said that the people who voted against the bills might
speak up and "air their grievances." The agenda wording is confusing-oughta
be more clearer.
[The reason I had thought they could go beyond is because I got
misinformation this morning from the Public Access Room staff-just more
example that duplicative checking is always good SOP.]
