We'd like to let those interested know that:
Kalawao County (Kalaupapa, Molokai island in Hawaii) will be on the
air. People are allowed into Kalaupapa by invitation only, making it a
rare county.
There will be limited HF SSB operations from Tuesday, April 13th to early
Sunday, April 18th. Operators, AH6NF (4/13 to 4/18) and AH6RH (4/16 to
4/18) will activate this rare county as time allows, fitting radio time
around a daily work schedule. Most operating will likely be evenings and
nights (Hawaii time).
Operations will be on 40 meters and above using small antennas (Force 12
Sigma 5 vertical dipole for 10-20 meters and a wire dipole for 40 meters)
and 100 W max. power.
Intended frequencies of operation are:
7088 KHz split (listen for your TX frequency)
14200 KHz +/-
21250 KHz (depending on propagation)
28495 KHz (depending on propagation)
For more information, contact: Bev ([email protected]) (prior to 4/12)
or Ron ([email protected])
(prior to 4/16)
