Just a reminder that the Simulated Emergency Test (SET) will be conducted
from 9-11 am. From State RACES, Robin Liu, AH6CP,we have this info:

SIMULATED EMERGENCY TEST -- OCTOBER 25
The statewide SET will happen on Saturday, October 25 beginning at 0900.
Frequencies to be used: 147.06, 147.04, 147.02, and IRLP frequencies. HF
will be used, 7.088 MHz (40 meters) +/- QRM, otherwise 3.993 MHz (80
meters), +/- QRM. State Civil Defense, KH6HPZ, will assume NCS duties.

At this time the scenario has not been released. As in a true emergency, if
we have advance notification of an event (e.g., hurricane, tsunami, etc),
operators will be alerted to possible RACES activation. As we normally do,
stations coming up before activation may operate under the auspices of the
Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) if registered. Upon activation,
those stations that are registered with RACES will perform their normal
duties. After activation, those stations still performing may do so under
the auspices of ARES, again. Regardless of your affiliation, if an
emergency occurs and you wish to learn more info or help, please check in.
If you are registered and trained, it will be easier to place you and have
you help.

Additional frequencies, if simulated activation occurs, are the preplanned
RACES frequencies. If you do not know this plan, please come up as you
normally would in an emergency and you will be redirected.
If you wish to participate with O'ahu Civil Defense Agency (OCDA) RACES,
please contact Ray Moody, AH6LT, at [email protected].
For ARES registration, please contact me, Kevin Bogan, AH6QO, at
[email protected]. Please do not hit the reply button on this e-mail,
but use my direct e-mail address.
We hope to hear from you.
Cheers,
Kevin, AH6QO
