   When that happened to me in the past I soldered little wires onto 
whatever was left.
The pins were made of solder plated brass from some manufactures, 
other's were made
from tin plated steel.  Eventually the steel pins rust away, possibly 
the unit's original
problem.  (A problem with Chinese parts!)
