Hi Sandy,
I'm voting with Pete on the receiver overload. But don't ignore Kevin's
advice, either. I have favored separate transmitter and receiver from
the beginning and I have observed Pete's description of an overloaded
receiver a time or two. Reduce the gain of the receiver if the
manufacturer allows you to. Shorting the antenna input to ground will
attenuate the input quite a bit.
