Hello everyone,
After going through the HFO circuit and finding it was OK. I went
through the HFO coil adjustment. Still no oscillation. I replaced the
crystal with a Heathkit "pull" I found online. The oscillator fired
right up and the radio receives FB on 15 meters.
I took the old crystal to my ham/neighbor's house and he checked the
crystal activity for me. He said it showed good activity. Evidently not
good enough though. I wish I had checked the replacement before I
soldered it in.
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. This project can now go in
the very small fixed pile!
