[Heathkit] OT question on soldering flux

Ralph,

There indeed is a corrosive component in Paste Flux. That has been true
of Dutch Boy flux back into the '70s.

I rarely actually use the paste flux. I depend on the rosin core solder
to do the job.

I use a HAKKO soldering mesh to clean the soldering pencils.

The paste flux sees darn near no use. Only time is when I have a very
stubborn joint in a tube type circuit. Then I brush a little coat on
the joint.
