That said, $20, which would buy you a small transistor portable kit from
Heath or some others back in the 1960-1970 era, would be something like $120
to $160 today, depending on which inflation calculator you used. So, their
price of $149 really doesn't look all that bad. BUT...how is it a TRF radio
with only one section to the tuning cap? TRFs used to have two or more RF
stages, at least, ganged before detection of the signal.
For me, I'd like to see something a bit more sophisticated and Ham oriented,
but who knows what the market will really bear nowadays?
