[Heathkit] FS: Heath Cantenna - Caution About The Oil

Transformer oil is a mineral oil.  However, it is different from that which is sold in pharmacies, farm supply stores, and so forth.
Heath definitely de-rated the power handling characteristics when "normal" mineral oil was used instead of transformer oil.
Most electric company service centers stock transformer oil by the 55-gallon drum or even larger containers.  Often, if you just ask, they will give you a gallon because it costs more to keep track of the oil than the oil actually costs.  The only thing is that getting just a gallon can be "tricky" because the oil is normally dispensed in larger quantities. Glen, K9STH

Best thing to use in them is mineral oil.  Go to your nearest farm supply store, like IFA, and get a gallon.
