The pins, on the octal socket on the rear of the DX-100 / DX-100B for the relay activation (120 VAC) are pin-2 and Pin-4.
You can use a DPDT 120 VAC coil relay, like from Radio Shack, to both mute the receiver and to change the antenna from the receiver to the transmitter. Use 1-set of the contacts to change the antenna and 1-set to mute the receiver.
A "cheap and dirty" way is to solder the antenna connections, using RG-58/U or RG-8X, to the relay or, you can use an aluminum mini-box on which you have mounted SO-239 connectors.
A suitable relay is

and they cost $4.97. You don't need a socket, just connect directly to the terminals.
For HF, this arrangement works fine.

Hello, I have a dx 100B and I want to connect a 110 v relay to mute the receiver. I have the none b manual. It appears to be pins 2 &4 . I can't read anything on the outside of the socket and will probably have to trace it to be sure. I Certainly don't want to have any fireworks. So my question is : Is the wiring the same on that socket on ALL Dx 100's ? Reading the manual says that 110 v is present with the plate switch on. I am planning on using the transmitter CW only. Basically , I'm going to use a coax switch to manually transfer between xmtr and rcvr. I know it sounds risky, but when you're low on cash sometime you have to improvise.
Thanks for any help,
Andrew
