[Heathkit] Hollow State QRP Transmitter Kit

I'm the first to admit that I am: (1) one of those skinflints who won't
spend a nickel to get a dime's worth of value, (2) a guy who learned the
radio trade back in the day when electronic equipment glowed in the dark and
could warm a waffle (make toast if you put a brick on the key); (3) a ham
who still scrounges the hamfest flea markets for hollow state equipment.

That being said, I can't imagine that selling more than a handful of
flea-powered vacuum tube transmitters at the cost of components - especially
power transformers and tubes - in today's market.

I can go on E-Bay any day of the week and pick up a DX-20, DX-35, DX-40 or
DX-60 for less than 100 bucks, not to mention the Globe Scouts, Knight kits
and Harvey Wells rigs out there.

If I wanted to get exotic I might even find the transmitter and power supply
sections of a GRC-109 for less than $250.

Why on earth would I want to spend a quarter of a thousand dollars to buy a
simple 6L6, 6AQ5 or 5763 transmitter? Not to mention the need for crystals
or a VFO.

Good luck, guys, but I think you are on a fool's errand.
