Yes, Howie hit the nail on the head; hams are the 
cheapest hobbyists as a group that
I know.  You could also call them FRUGAL, penny 
pinchers, and if I got my thesaurus
down, I'll bet there is no end to descriptive names for ham shoppers.

Thinking about it, maybe we should run a contest 
for the ham that can think of the most
descriptive names in the ‘cheap’ vein and give a 
$1000 prize.  I don’t think anyone could
run this contest because we’re too cheap to make a prize fund
