Not over a DX-100B!

Id say 10-12 dB is well worth it.

The power supply in the HA-10 Warrior is just not capable of handling the power level you want. You are going to be able to get between 150 watts and 200 watts carrier out of the Warrior. This is just not enough added power to be worth the effort!

My AM station consists of a DX-100B and an HQ-180A and I'm looking
for a legal limit amplifier. "Legal limit", in this case, apparently
means 375 watts unmodulated carrier output for 1500 watts PEP
output. At 60 percent efficiency that would translate to 625 watts
DC input for unmodulated carrier.
I'm wondering if I can get anywhere near this with a Heath HA-10
Warrior amplifier converted to 572B's. The Svetlana 572B is rated at
160 watts plate dissipation, and at 625 watts DC input and 60 percent
efficiency that translates to 250 watts of dissipation or 62.5 watts
per tube, well within specs. At 100 percent modulation, if my
calculations and understanding are correct, PEP input would be 2500
watts and peak dissipation would be 1000 watts or 250 watts per tube
(assuming a matched quad). That exceeds the ratings by a fair amount
but it's intermittent service at a low duty cycle and I don't know if
the 160-watt rating is CCS or ICAS (data sheet doesn't say).
So my questions are (1) will the tubes stand up to it, perhaps with a
bigger fan to move more air?, and (2) will the power supply be able
to provide enough power?
I also have an HX-10 Marauder for SSB and the Warrior would match up
nicely (appearance-wise) with both that and the DX-100, hence my
desire to see if this will work rather than go with something else.
