Someone today posted a message about this radio.
It is perfectly legal to sell in the USA. You do not have to be a licensed Ham to own it or buy it.
How many SWL listeners buy rigs like the Icom 756 Pro III just to listen on ? But never transmit on ?
Get the picture ? So please do not bust on something that's out there for sale. Law enforcement doesn't want YOU to be able to own a scanner... How many guys out there started this hobby by monitoring and listening first to the "bands" sparking our interest to get our tickets.. I'm an Extra and I owned a TS-520 BEFORE I ever had a license.. Nobody blocked me from purchasing it ? FYI..It's legal to buy a CAR if you do not have a drivers license also.... That's why you are blessed by living in the USA. Be glad you Don't live in a country where Big Brother tells you what you can and cannot buy..
So this transceiver from Meritline is legal to sell and buy with or without a license. It's not legal to transmit on a frequency you are not licensed to transmit on...But that doesn't mean you can't own and listen to the radio.
