[Heathkit] WTB: Junked SB-610s

Hi gang,

You may recall that I posted a request for opinions on converting an SB-610
monitor scope to a modern solid-state design a few weeks ago. I've made some
progress prototyping the circuitry but I'm reluctant to rip the guts out of
one of my SB-610s until I've fully tested the prototype circuits on a spare
chassis. So what I'm looking for is any junked out SB-610 chassis that you
might want to get rid of. The parts I'm looking for, in priority order, are:

1. Chassis - not totally mangled, but oxidized/cruddy is ok- I'm just
looking for a breadboard

2. CRT mount usable, shield optional

3. Front panel condition doesn't matter at all

4. CRT and shield would be nice to have, but I have some extras on
hand

5. Transformer would be nice, but not necessary as I have a completely
new HV power supply design with readily available parts.

6. All other parts, including knobs, are not needed

I'm looking for junked parts that are in your scrap pile, and will give you
a fair price including shipping, but I'm not looking for collectable units
or willing to pay for restoration-quality parts. I'm just looking for junk
chassis for bread-boarding my ideas.

The benefit to you will be that when I complete this project I hope to offer
kits to convert your SB-610 units to modern solid-state operation. The
advantages I expect from this conversion are:

. Better performance at a lower cost than replacing the existing
out-of-tolerance components

. No more reliance on the NOS tube supply

. Greatly extended life of the unit

. Lower power consumption

. Addition special features which I will reveal as this project
evolves

Please do not reply to the list, but reply to me directly, if you have parts
you would like to contribute to this project. I promise that I will share
all information on this project back to contributors. I'm not seeking any
profit, I just love to build neat stuff.

73, Dave WA0TTN
