[Heathkit] IG-42 vernier

Hi John,

My IG-42, which I purchased about 5 months ago, came with a vernier. I presume 
its stock. It takes about 3 turns of the tuning knob to cover from one end of 
the dial to the other.

I have a Heath IG 42 RF Signal Generator that works but, the frequency tuning 
is 

too fast to be easily used.

My question is whether anyone has installed vernier tuning on a Heath IG 42 Rf 
Signal Generator? If so, I would appreciate knowing what vernier you used and 
whether it helped setting the frequency on the generator. How did you install 
the vernier and was it difficult?

Any information and suggestions you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
