Dave,
Good luck with the project. I think it makes perfect sense if you
already have some plans in mind, or of the Engineering sort. I
also like the idea of having something modern that looks vintage.

When you are all done and have it working, could you document what
you did and share it with the list please? I have an old 610 as
well that works, but is getting long in the tooth. I would guess
that solid state would be more stable than a refurb.
