[Heathkit] shipping.. an old sore spot

I've had issues with every single shipper.

However, PROPER packing is the CLEAR key to safe transit and arrival.
The forklift tongs are another issue altogether. Even Uncle Sam has
that issue raise its ugly head!

A National Defense contractor that I used to work for, has gone to using
"other" over the road and Air carriers. Some leave the facility in
unmarked tractor trailers that have nothing but a DOT registration
number on the cab. Those are reserved for certain items that are highly
classified in nature.

As to the "normal" culprits - UPS, FedEx, and USPS, I've watched them
toss packages around, stand in their trucks, and drop the packages on
the ground from some several feet.

I've resorted to plywood lined, double thick boxes, and different types
of foam. I secure the double walled boxes to the plywood with liquid
nails. I ABSOLUTELY never use peanuts! I don't care if you bag them,
they WILL shift!

It is a "worn out" topic! Why some folks DON'T get it by now, I'll
never understand!

I've also gone the route of obtaining the two chemicals to foam in place
radios. They are available to the public if one cares to take the
effort to look for them and obtain them. However, that method isn't the
be all/end all of solutions. It doess help - IF all the other efforts
are applied.
