[Heathkit] Warrior Amp Rebuild

I've just acquired a Warrior Amp and will be rebuilding it and have a 
few questions:

1. Are there any recommended upgrades?

2. Is there any reason I should not change the bias arrangement to 
the more typical, where the grid is grounded at DC (not just RF) and 
the cathode is positively biased with a string of diodes (and a 
resistor when in RX).  i will have to change  the metering scheme.

3.  Why does it need neutralizing? May be it will not if I do the mod above.
