You really need to keep the 24 inches of RG62/U cable for the LMO, HFO, and BFO connections. Using something else can have an effect on the higher bands (especially 15 and 10 meters and sometimes on 20 meters).

Iwant to make up a new set of inner connects for my 301/401 twins. Heathsays use 3- 2' long cables of RG-62. which has a 93 ohm impedance andcapacitance of 13 pf/foot. How critical is this. the RG-62 is stiffand large for a inner connect. I have 20' of RG-174...50 ohm and 30 pf/foot. would like to use itbecause it is small and flexable. Would there be any problems withusing the RG-174 instead of the RG-62?
Could any body reccomend a coax that is low capacitance ,likethe 62 ,except in a mini coax size , like the RG-174. I looked butfound nothing so far. Maybe a low capacitance audio coax? thanks for any input on this.
