[Heathkit] Dumb speaker question

Thank you all for the help.
I had it in my head that the tube-makeup of these cool old radios
introduced a high-impedance audio output Z... but I thought it applied
to the back speaker jack, as well as the front. It seems that the other
radios like Hammarlund and Hallicrafters seemed to be that way in my
recollections... I guess that is not the case with the audio out on the
back of the SB-301.. I am glad to know I don't have to go find a
matching transformer to make this work since it seems heathkit speakers
are very expenseive. Again, apologies for the first-grade level
question.
Now for another subjective question, not quite so black-and-white: how
good overall do you rate the receive sensitivity performance of these
radios? I was not as impressed with the sensitivity of the 301 as I
thought I might be. Do you all think that a well-aligned and
well-working Heathkit receiver of this vintage will work as well as
another radio from the same era... say, a Kenwood TS-520 or FT-101?
Thanks for the Elmerly-advice. I'm just getting (re)started in tubes
after a long hiatus (and not ever being that bright about them at that).
But I love these things.
Wayne, ke0ms
