Larry,
The honest answer is that Paul already has that external relay. It is
called the Ampkeyer.
Use a two conductor cable such as small coax or an audio cable with RCA
jacks on each end.
I am not familiar with the 850 but it should have something called
'send' on the back. Connect the 850 'send' to the 'radio in' on the
Ampkeyer. Connect the Ampkeyer 'amp relay' to the 'ant relay' on the
back of the SB200.

HI Paul,
The issue is the 850 probably has a 12v keying circut. The SB-200 has
probably a 150 volt line that needs to be grounded which would fry the
850 relay Just guessing as I don't have either radio. So you need to
find a relay that is a 12 v one (or whatever the 850 uses for keying)
and use the contacts on that external relay to key the SB-200. Does the
same thing but with an additional relay. You do however need to have
that relay in a protected case so little fingers or curious paws cannot
touch it.
Good luck if I can answer any thhing more please feel free to ask.
However I hope someone form the Heathkit list with an SB-200 would step
forward and help.
Sorry no one on this list gave you a honest answer although Jim's was
pretty cute.
